The guys behind Co.bru love great beer, and they think there’s nothing better than sharing a cold one with your friends. And that’s why in 2017, they started making their own beer out of their basement in West London.
In 2018, a new tradition was started in which friends would come over on Saturdays to help (and hang) out. Pretty soon it became clear that it wasn’t just their beer anymore. It was everyone’s beer. At some point, someone suggested the name “Co.bru” (short for “Collaborative Brewing Company”) and it stuck. That’s when they knew they were brewing something bigger…
Later that year, the guys took the next step and got a place in the legendary Bermondsey Beer Mile. At the same time, Mike left his job in finance to go steady with brewing. In their never-ending quest for brewing perfection, 2019 saw the guys teaming up with Chiddinglye’s Missing Link Brewing, a collective of microbrewers. With the help of their new brewing partners, the UK’s first South African Pale Ale (SAPA) joined their original baby in March 2020.
We’ve got plans (and they include you).
For Dev, it all started when Mike brought his home brewing kit to St Dunstan’s Road in Barons Court. Curiosity became an obsession and today he’s an eager beer enthusiast (and a full-time consumer).
If Mike could write poetry he’d write a thousand poems to tell the world that he loves brewing. He loves it so much that he left a career in finance to learn from the brewing masters and pursue his passion.
James (aka Jambot) has been around since day one. He’s a brewing junkie and he’s good with numbers. He’d probably be CFO if we were into that sort of thing (but we’re not, so we’ll stick with Jambot).
